Bobby Chinn

Bobby Chinn, born 3 April 1966 in Auckland, New Zealand, is a famous chef, restaurateur, musician and TV host based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Bobby was born in Auckland to an Chinese American father and an Egyptian mother.[1] He grew up in many different places in the world, including England, Egypt, New York and San Francisco.

Chinn graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Finance and Economics in the USA and had a brief stint as a Financer in Wall Street.[2] However, bored with the job, he tried selling seafood. He even tried his hand in comedy. Soon after he was associated with eminent San Francisco chefs like Hubert Keller,Traci des Jardine and Gary Danko. Gradually, he grew in fame and located to Hanoi in 1996. He opened up his restaurant known as Restaurant Bobby Chinn here.[3]

His restaurant is famous for its fusion of American and traditional and authentic oriental food. It has been contemporarily decorated with hookah pipes, chandeliers, and other antiques.

Bobby Chinn is famous for hosting the show, World Cafe Asia for the Travel and Living Channel, BBC's Saturday Kitchen, UKTV Food's Great Food Live and Bobby Chinn Cooks Asia for Discovery.[4]
